Fox, Ribcage, TCC, Dana

So E and I are flying up to Connecticut on Monday to do a taping for this national morning show on Fox. It's called Something Something with Mike and Julian or something like that. I think it's airing the following Monday. May 14th at 9am. I'll remind the two of you later.

I am indeed going to use the paddles on www.ribcage.org--bring it back to life with weeklyish updates, just like the old days. For now, I'm figuring out how my brain will accomplish that, as I am--gasp!--working on something new as well.

I'll just call my new project TCC for the time being. I'll say that it is a novel and that it is closer to my first, widely unread novel Leaving Jupiter, than it is to Ribcage. It's funny, filthy and extremely gratifying for me to work on--everything I need in a project right now! The first sentence is, "Mo, the chips."

I am writing it mostly on this...

I bought it for $100 on Ebay a while back. It's the freaking coolest, most low-tech thing I could ever wish for. The screen glows green like an old Casio watch and everything. I'm surprised I never wrote of my love of this Dana creature. This AlphaSmart Dana. It's the closest thing the world has left to a portable word processor.

At least someone out there knows that not everyone wants an eight pound, egg frying hot laptop with two hours of battery life burning their sperm count into oblivion.
